We are looking for a Director of Technology and Research to join and lead our client’s team.

Location: Remote with weekly brainstorming meetings in downtown Montreal.

Your Profile
– Master’s degree (or higher) in computer science, engineering or a related field
– Experience in R&D in the field of 2D/3D vision, ML/DL (5+ years).
– Coding skills: Python and/or C++ (5+ years).
– Strong industrial research and project management skills.
– Proven team building and leadership skills.
– Experience with deep learning frameworks (such as PyTorch).
– Experience designing deep learning architectures for computer vision.
– Similar experience in a small to medium sized technology start-up.
– Ability to move fluidly from mathematics to code and specifications of an idea.
– Good written and spoken English and good interpersonal skills.
– Attitude is more important to us than skills.
Your main responsibilities
– Participate. You will be directly involved in all engineering activities, including research, design,
development, production engineering, quality control and software development testing.
– Coordinate. You will define and assume the responsibilities of the research and development team
members. You will help ensure the engagement of the engineering staff (6-8) by coaching, mentoring,
motivating and evaluating their performance. You will also engage and mentor new members to
ensure they acquire the resources necessary to facilitate their integration.
– Implement strategies. You will constantly work on the technology roadmap and establish deliverable
projections based on regular progress updates to achieve long-term goals.
