The goal of the Food and Beverage Manager is to direct and control all employees to perform their job duties per their job description while ensuring the work environment promotes a safe, healthy and respectful work place for all. All companies policies and procedures, collective agreement, along with provincial and federal guidelines must be adhered to at all times. It is the companies goal that service is provided with excellence at all times.
Duties & Responsibilities
(include, but not limited to)
· Know, understand, comply, and uphold all relevant guidelines with regards to Health & Safety, Human Rights, ESA, WHMIS, Smart Serve, and Collective Agreement, policies and procedures and all other governing regulations.
· Know and understand all P.O.S. systems and have the ability to troubleshoot issues whenever they arise, or contact the proper party immediately, when unable to troubleshoot (Training provided for Aloha/Restaurant Manager)
· Deal with customer issues, complaints, and queries at any time in an educated and cordial manner.
· Check all equipment throughout your shift (checking that chemicals have been logged, checking temperatures on coolers/freezers, etc.) ensuring there are no issues, and if issues are found, fix immediately or notify those who are able to fix ( ie maintenance, security, outside contractors)
· Engaging in conversations with employees to ensure on a continual basis, the workspace is safe and respectful for everyone
· Ensure all employees are consistently abiding by all policies & procedures
· Checking into your personal work email at least three (3) times per shift
· Checking phone messages as they come in and responding if, and when necessary
· Educated in procedure for WSIB issues: how to properly fill out the WSIB form 7 and forward it to the agency, following up with employees after workplace injury, filling out all reports required in the case of a workplace injury
· Assisting staff when business needs unexpectedly exceed the ability of the employees scheduled at the time
· Ensuring each employee is at their workstation on time and in full, proper uniform at all times
· Ensuring all H&S guidelines are always complied with : ( eg: Kevlar gloves, PPE’s, restrained hair, safe footwear etc.)
· Maintaining portfolios on a continual basis (Food inventories & menus; Bar and Pop inventories & related ordering & AGCO licensing; Scheduling & Health & Safety)
· Bringing product to appropriate workstations when requested by staff ( eg: beer order, liquor order)
· Place orders as required with various suppliers, contact suppliers to rectify any issues with orders ( Sysco, Pepsi, Beer Store, etc.)
· Checking all means of communication with employees (mailbox, email and phone) and suppliers throughout each shift
· Other related duties as assigned by General Manager

Working Conditions

· Work shifts assigned by General Manager
· Work overtime as required and/or on short notice
· Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
· Able to lift 50lbs
· Able to troubleshoot issues in high pressure situations
· Able to delegate tasks and direct employees in a respectful manner
· Familiar with P.O.S. systems and equipment
· Able to make firm, confident decisions
Qualifications
· Must possess Smart Serve Certifications, Food Handler’s certificate
· Will complete any and all on site training
· Must have minimum 3 years F&B experience with at least 12 months in a supervisory role
