About the role
This position is responsible forProviding support and leadership to site operations management through implementation of HSE programs, procedures, and education initiatives focused on compliance assurance, incident reduction, and risk mitigation.
Key responsibilities
Develop, implement, and execute HSE annual objectives & improvement plans in conjunction with site operations management and business unit HSE Director.
Manage all environmental permits and program requirements specific to the site.
Lead implementation and management of site ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
Undertake at regular intervals audits/inspections of the site (including inspections of machinery, equipment in use, and work systems in operation) with site operations management to ensure compliance with corporate polices and HSE regulations.
Organize and execute site safety and environment training needs, utilizing appropriate resources for all onsite workers in the facility including Kerry staff, contractors and visitors as required.
Communicate HSE incidents and corrective actions in a timely, thorough, and effective manner.
Manage expenses of safety programs.
Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
Track and monitor site HSE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and communicate trends to management team as needed to drive performance.
Maintain HSE records to ensure adherence to corporate polices and/or regulatory requirements. Includes, but not limited to, OSHA 300 log (US), incident records, safety metrics, training, inspections, permits, etc.
Liaise where necessary with various external agencies or resources (Government Agencies, Group insurers, etc.) and more related task.
Qualifications and skills

Bachelors degree preferred with 2-3 years HSE experience in a manufacturing setting, with food industry desired.

In depth knowledge of HSE regulations including Ontario OHSA, Canadian Labour Code, Canada and Ontario Environmental Act and Regulations.

Knowledge and experience with relevant consensus standards such as NFPA and ANSI, and systems such as ISO 14001.

Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts.

Excellent organisational skills.
