E-commerce Youth Advisors are responsible for supporting local small businesses through the Canada Digital Adoption Program. E-commerce Advisors will review and assess local small businesses’ Canada Digital Adoption Program applications to ensure businesses are meeting the program’s eligibility criteria. Once businesses have been approved for the Canada Digital Adoption Program, E-commerce Advisors will have the opportunity to work with local small businesses to assess their digital needs and help them develop their e-commerce strategies and deploy new digital technologies. E-commerce Advisors will be in constant communication with successful Canada Digital Adoption Program participants (or applicants) and will support them throughout their e-commerce/digital adoption project. E-commerce Advisors will be responsible for reviewing and validating businesses’ expense claims to ensure businesses are meeting the eligible expenses guidelines set out by the Canada Digital Adoption Program. E-commerce advisors will be utilizing Salesforce as a CRM to update all CDAP applicant’s information. Additionally, E-commerce Advisors will be given specific tasks to support the Kingston Economic Development team and their mission of facilitating economic growth in Kingston.
Opportunity Summary
The Canadian Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) allows small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) the supports to be able to assess their digital readiness and apply for grants and loans online. This funding will help them leverage e-commerce opportunities, upgrade or adopt digital technologies, and digitize their operations to stay competitive and meet their customers’ needs in the digital marketplace. To help small businesses with their e-commerce plans, a network of service providers was established. These business support organizations will provide guidance to small businesses on how to best grow their online presence. This includes establishing a network of E-Commerce Youth Advisors to help small businesses make use of their new digital tools.

SERVICE / PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES / OBJECTIVES: CDAP
1. Work collaboratively with both fellow E-Commerce Advisors as well as successful Canada Digital Adoption Program applicants to assist in the development and implementation of their proposed Canada Digital Adoption Program project.
2. Complete documentation and reporting as required and outlined by Kingston Economic Development and the Canada Digital Adoption Program. This includes:
o Reviewing, assessing, and supporting businesses’ CDAP applications to ensure they are meeting eligibility requirements.
o Reviewing and validating business claims to ensure they align with the eligible expenses’ guidelines.
o Updating all accounts on Salesforce.
o Logging outreaches, inquiries, and consultations on Salesforce.
3. Support local small businesses in developing a plan/project that will assist their business in adopting new technology and improving their e-commerce. This includes but is not limited to:
o Website SEO
o Website E-Commerce
o Website Design
o Loyalty Programs
o Back Office Solutions
o Advisory Services
o Cybersecurity
o Social Media and Marketing
4. Participate in special projects that support Kingston not-for-profit businesses in the creative industry.
5. Participate in skills training offered through CDAP project partners. Develop industry specific marketable skills and experience to assist with future career development and decision making.
6. Attend all meetings and training as required by all CDAP stakeholders, KEYS and Kingston Economic Development.
