Position Overview
We are a collaborative and engaging team of engineering managers that supports projects throughout the energy division. Our staff leads and collaborates with Kiewit’s estimating and construction teams to approach construction-driven engineering with a focus on safe, cost effective, and innovative designs that achieve client expectations and further Kiewit’s legacy of excellence.

Location
This position is based out of our Energy Corridor Office in Houston, TX. Opportunities for flexible work are available.
Responsibilities
Provide Engineering focused guidance and oversight of Project Engineering Managers and their teams during pursuits, project development, estimating, project initiation, execution and closeout within the Renewable/Alternative fuels market segment; such as Ammonia, Syngas, Methanol, etc. This typically includes multiple project teams at various stages of execution and requires proactive communication, coordination and follow-up to meet project goals and objectives; ensure project scope work, schedule and budget are clearly defined and understood.
Drive execution certainty through review and enforcement of project procedures consistent with contractual documents, quality plans and corporate policies for all engineering work
Established representative of Kiewit’s brand, readily supports business development and integral to the win strategy of pursuits.
Follows events of the energy industry and identifies opportunities and derailers specific to their market-segment that may impact Kiewit’s EPC strategies.
Able to change focus from internal to external, building relationships with customers, partners, and project stakeholders.
Establish and maintain sponsor-level zippering relationships with customers, other Kiewit functions/districts, subcontractors, and key technology providers throughout the project lifecycle. • Provide mentoring to mid-career engineers and designers to promote employee development.
Share best-practices and execution experience to set project teams up for success.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering in any discipline, Project Management, Business or related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
Advanced Technical or Business Degree – MS, MBA (preferred).
PE license and/or PMP certification (desired).
20+ years of OGC experience in all aspects of the project lifecycle with a focus on the Oil, Gas, & Chemical market; ammonia, syngas, steam methane reforming, or hydrogen is highly preferred.
Demonstrated success as a Engineering Manager, Project Manager or Program Manager on multiple major onshore OGC EPCC Projects, 100MM TIC or greater.
Field experience in construction and/or commissioning.
Well versed and knowledgeable in supplier, vendor and subcontractor coordination and interface management.
Appreciation and understanding of the operations of other functions (e.g. Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, OSSQ, Business Management, Estimating, etc.)
Capable of autonomous management of multiple projects and personnel.
Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including reporting and presenting.
