Job Description:
We are looking for Instructor Therapists to join our expanding team. The Entry to School (ETS) service will aim to support families with children ages 3 to 5 who are entering school for the first time. Children enrolled in ETS will receive six-months of group programming focusing on building skills prior to their entry to school followed by six-months of transition supports and individualized consultation. As an ETS service provider, Kinark will deliver ETS as part of the York Simcoe Autism Network (YSAN). Primary location for these roles will be in Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Newmarket and Markham.
Salary for this position is starting at $25.65 per hour
Job Summary:
The Instructor Therapist will be responsible for providing Applied Behaviour Analytic services to children and youth with autism and their families under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). In this position, you will provide group-based services preparing children for first time entry to school. This role may include supporting Kinark’s Fee-for-service and / or Foundational Family Services.
Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Deliver direct service to students
- Implement skill acquisition and group programming
- Liaise with parents
- Prepare teaching materials
- Monitor the student progress
- Assist with the implementation of behavioural assessment procedures
- Participate in treatment planning, program writing, and report writing
Qualifications:
- Community college diploma or a University degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, autism and behaviour science, early childhood education, child and youth worker).
***Consideration will also be given to candidates currently completing a college diploma or a University degree***
- Experience in the field delivering intensive behavioural intervention programs or early childhood education would be an asset and will be given special consideration.
- Travel in the York and/or Simcoe area is required for this position; the successful candidate must have a valid Ontario driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and be willing to obtain automobile insurance which includes driving for business purposes with a minimum liability of one million dollars.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including a Vulnerable Sector Screening) and Pre-Employment Medical.
- Candidates bilingual in English and French will be given special consideration.
- Some evening / weekend work may be required
Kinark Child and Family Services conditions of employment include but are not limited to successful Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, completed Pre-Employment Medical certificate, and proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. Fully vaccinated is defined as having received all required doses of a World Health Organization Approved COVID-19 Vaccine at least one of which being approved for use in Canada and 14 days have passed since your last dose. Proof of vaccination for each vaccine dose received is required.
