About the position
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the HR Coordinator administers the HR function and serves as first point of contact for questions from coworkers in areas such as recruitment, compensation, and policy. Responsibilities include preparing and processing documents, forms, and correspondence; opening and updating employee files; screening resumes and interviewing job applicants; proposing improvements to policies and practices; and supporting accessibility and diversity programs. Success in this role requires keen attention to detail, collaborating across departments, and a strong focus on customer service. Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Organize and maintain employee records
· Answer coworkers’ queries on HR-related topics
· Quarterback recruitment efforts, from job posting to onboarding
· Prepare documents, including employment offers and new hire packages
· Generate regular reports and presentations on key HR metrics
· Coordinate incident reporting and liaise with WSIB as needed
· Serve as contact person for inquiries from unions
· Ensure that HR operations comply with legislation, policies, and procedures
· Participate in special projects (e.g., updating policies, promoting workplace safety)
· Protect Company by keeping business and personal information confidential
Qualifications
· Post-secondary education in HR Management or related discipline
· Completion or pursuit of CHRP designation preferred
· At least two (2) years of HR administration or recruitment experience, with track record of success in spotting talent, serving customers, and handling sensitive matters
· Experience with ADP preferred
· Fully comfortable with MS Office and virtual meeting technology (Zoom, Teams)
· Sound judgment combined with diplomatic skills
· Keen eye for detail and high accuracy
· Excellent time management skills
· Solid verbal and written communication skills (English)
· Strong data processing and analytical skills
· Familiarity with employment standards legislation and relevant case law
· Availability to work outside of regular business hours, as needed
· Ability to arrive to work, meetings, and events dependably and timely
