Context and Background
Global Finance delivers most ongoing finance activities from outsourced providers. The KPMG resources in Global Finance are focused on providing value added activities which can only be delivered from within the firm.
Global Finance is responsible for managing all financial budgeting and reporting for KPMG International and its subsidiaries. This includes the following:
Levy and collection – issue levy and recharge to member firms, collections and reporting
Payable and disbursements – invoice processing, approval and payments for over 50+ significant functions
Management and financial reporting – interim and annual audited financial statements; actual versus budget monitoring and reporting; loans and investments summary; capitalization and maintenance of capital asset register
Direct and indirect taxes – to ensure complex compliance with several foreign reporting tax jurisdictions; prepare corporate tax filings for filings in various countries
Treasury functions – weekly and monthly cash flow projections; manage the initiation and maturity of currency hedges
Role Summary
Reporting to the Global Finance Business Partner responsible for pool resources, (Senior Manager level) this role will assist in the support of the assigned global teams and budget areas. The candidate will work across functional areas with more than one Finance Business Partner as required.
In support of the Finance Business Partner the successful candidate will provide analytical support for assigned global budget areas, assisting in the production of monthly reports, the analysis of costs vs budget and global revenues, and the monitoring of transactions of the budget.
Opportunities for direct stakeholder involvement will be available in support of smaller budget areas within the portfolio.
What you will do:
On a day to day basis the successful candidate, in support of the Global Finance Business Partners and the Deputy CFO, will be responsible for the following:
Operational Finance Support
Preparation of reports and creating or developing new reports for the analysis of costs, revenue and time postings or other measures specific to the budget area;
Analysis of financial results, highlighting exceptions and escalating them as appropriate;
Analysis and allocation of time and billing information from key vendors to projects or execution of recharges and reallocations as required
Supporting the annual budgeting process for areas within the portfolio, assisting with analysis of headcount, costs and time allocations, and other elements for the assigned budget areas;
Providing support to the Global Finance Partner on ad hoc project and analytical tasks;
Liaising with internal stakeholders on finance matters;
Monitoring and tracking of transactions as required for assigned areas, ensuring completeness and accuracy;
Key Accountabilities
Manage small budget area(s) developing relationships with key stake holders, leading on budgeting, forecasting, operational management of AP/AR, cost centre hierarchy and monthly accruals
Operational finance support including reporting and analysis of cost, headcount, time, revenues or other required measures applicable to area
Various projects and initiatives support
What you bring to this role:
Technical Skills & Qualifications
The ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial or business reports and projections.
Strong Excel skills, with the ability to compile and analyse large volumes of data in an efficient manner.
Ability to work with remote, geographically diverse teams on a daily basis.
Ability to use own initiative to identify practical solutions to resolve issues that arise.
Proven communication and relationship building skills with the ability to present financial and non-financial information in a clear and effective manner.
A “self-starter” – ability to work independently on a daily basis with minimum supervision.
Experience & Knowledge
Professional Accounting Designation and a degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business Administration
5 years of Accounting experience in a similar role in a similar sized organization
Systems savvy: SAP S4 HANA, TM1/Cognos, Advance user of Excel, experience managing large volumes of data
