YOUR ROLE
The Kruger Kamloops Pulp Mill is recruiting for Entry Level positions for our four main Operations departments; Chip Yard, Fibreline, Machine Room and Power & Recovery. Entry Level employees start in the labour pool and will be placed in a department based on current need. Employees can then use their seniority to bid into a department and train up the line of progression.
New employees start with a three-day orientation and are provided extensive safety and job specific training. Schedules are typically 12-hour shifts on a 4 on, 4 off rotation. Employees work two-day shifts, followed by two-night shifts, and then have four days off.
The starting wage is $33.72 per hour with opportunities to develop new skills and increase wages by moving up departmental lines of progression. This permanent full-time position involves shift work, manual labour and equipment operation.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
The Entry Level position offers variety in the work that is performed, including indoor and outdoor work. Common duties include:
ü Equipment operation involving a vacuum truck, forklift, front-end loader, etc.
ü Area clean-up
ü Loading bales of pulp into warehouse and railcars
ü Process testing
ü Ensuring processes and equipment run safely

ü Strong problem solving & analytical skills, excellent judgment
ü Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands;
ü Detail oriented;

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
ü High school diploma or equivalent
ü Valid Driver’s License or eligibility to drive in Canada
ü Experience working in a safety sensitive industrial environment
ü Previous experience operating heavy equipment is an asset
ü Power Engineering Certification is an asset
