WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Director, Transportation & Logistics is critical to ensuring timely delivery of our products at the most efficient level of expenditure. They have full accountability for setting and achieving the transportation and warehouse budget across Kruger Products’ North American network. They will be responsible for uncovering inefficiencies in our logistics sourcing and planning process, as well as being the architect behind future network optimization.
In this role, you will:
Work closely within our strategic plan to align the Logistics strategy with capital expansion, co-manufacturing arrangements, and our digital transformation
Coach, lead, and develop the Transportation & Logistics team
They manage all transportation activities, as well as carrier sourcing and inventory storage for goods
Drive continuous improvement and network optimization initiatives for the department
Evaluate supplier performance and cost/benefit of each partnership (e.g., OTR, Intermodal, 3PL, TMS, etc.) and build relationships with key Transportation partners
Work closely with Plant Leadership to evaluate opportunities to improve cost, service, and stability
Monitor KPIs to measure and track our overall Logistics performance
Manage Corporate freight & warehouse spend
Create and present findings and updates to the business and Senior Leaders
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Post-secondary degree from either a University or College
Minimum of 5 years of operational logistics experience in relevant indusries (ie. manufacturing, CPG)
Working knowledge of manufacturing, material flow and improvement strategies (Network Optimization, Working Capital Management, Capacity Loading, Sales and Operations Planning, understanding of cost-to-serve) and the ability to integrate those into the operation.
Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and the key drivers within the manufacturing environment.
Strong organizational skills in strategy, and communication at all levels.
Strong leadership skills. Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization
Excellent organizational and people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
Understanding of applicable computer systems such as: SAP ERP / BW, MS Office Suite.
Bilingual in English & French is an asset
