KUBRA Looking for Payroll Specialist at Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Full Time

KUBRA is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our accomplished Finance team.

As the Payroll Specialist, you will oversee the day-to-day processing of payroll for KUBRA Canada and KUBRA US companies, as well as assist with the preparation of annual reports for US workers’ compensation insurance audits, and collaborate with consultants to compile reports for Canadian and US technology tax credits.

What you get to do every day

• Accurate and timely input of payroll for all of our Canada and US employees
• Collect and analyze the authorization for any change on payroll.
• Reconciliation of input/output and review of deductions for reasonableness
• Maintain consistent communication with employees, HR, and Finance department
• Distribution of annual T4’s for Canada, and W2 and W4 for US Employees
• Communication with State and Federal contacts as needed
• Collection, organization and filing of all the changes to payroll, including OT, new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, commissions, bonuses, expense reimbursements for payroll input, and retirement plan withholdings.
• Research payroll errors and processed payments for Federal, State and Provincial taxes, SSN/Social Security, healthcare, and various employee deductions, annual contributions
• Working alongside the CFO and Senior Accountant on all aspects of reporting, annual budget preparation, data auditing assistance
• Working alongside the HR department on a variety of aspects pertaining to employee deductions, benefits, reports, bonuses, employee status changes, annual merit adjustments, companywide communications, and retirement plan processing for both Canada and the US
• Ensuring that federal, provincial, and state requirements are met by the outside payroll provider, including time sheet review, wage withholding orders, and garnishments

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive material
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines

What skills do you need?

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Payroll and reconciliation
• US and Canadian experience in payroll, State, Federal and Provincial requirements
• Experience using ADP or another Time and Attendance software
• Well versed in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook
• Extensive experience with financial reports and transaction review
• Accounting or finance degree at the university or college level would be a benefit
• Other Education/Certification/Training preferred: Payroll certificate
