About the opportunity:
The procurement process and method manager as a key member of the North American Strategic Procurement team is responsible for developing and implementing purchasing processes, compliance, systems, training, and policies that deliver best-in-class results in the areas of people, processes, costs and supply, as well as the implementation and ongoing integrity of purchasing policies, practices, and systems. They work in strong collaboration and has to develop relationships/network with the global procurement team and other functions like but not limited to finance control, HR, Audit. This person works in a global and matrixial organization. Ensure that overall focus of his/her work is consistent with overall goals of the organization within the USA and Canada. They oversee industrializing and defining project management processes. It does this by relying on methodologies, tools, and an associated skills network.
The attributes we are looking for:
- Develop and manage the procurement process and procedures at zone level.
- Ensure the procurement process and procedures are compliant within others functions process and procedures.
- Able to audit others process link to procurement from other functions.
- Create and maintain the process and procedures library.
- Coordinate the zone procurement process, procedures, and tools with the global process manager.
- Harmonize the different processes between the various divisions.
- Develop working matrix to train other functions on procurement activities.
- Ensure the team is trained and in compliance with the company’s requirements.
- Measure the efficiency and the maturity of the procurement processes via KPI and reporting.
- Support and manage company acquisition with developing and ensuring that the right on boarding is in place.
- Develop and manage all the necessary documents for procurement team member onboarding.
- Develop with the group manager method and process the right training documentation.
- Implement and communicate training on all procurement tools.
- Identify with the key procurement partner the team training needs, set up the planning, evaluate training session and propose improvement actions.
- Manage continuous improvement activity.
- Identify, purpose and deployed tools in order to improve the procurement function at all business unit and deployed implementation and training workshop.
- In relation with the group process and method manager, implement and insure the right utilization of the group tools. In charge of the implementation and the training of the key users
- Manage and support deployment on all IT projects/tools related to procurement.
- Coordinate and animate procurement tools with key users. Recommend in collaboration with the global Process manager any potential functionality improvement.
- Shared and benchmark the best practices.
- Methodological support to procurement team on project management
- Oversee the harmonization of the various process/procedures between divisions regarding but not limited to Co-manufacturing, procurement committee and replenishment….
- Be a key team member for activities like audit, internal control, respect of the code ethics.
- Could be assigned to special projects by the Vice president, Corporate Procurement
- Will evaluate and ensure that all plants are following proper purchasing procedures. Will also be responsible for communicating changes in purchasing policies and procedures.
- Participate as an active member of the Strategic procurement team by supporting teamwork, and by participating in joint learning and development initiative. Presenting to executive members of the various division at the zone level.
What you will bring:
- University degree, with minimum 5 years’ experience in a procurement function or/and in project management preferably at a food company.
- Experience in process and procedure management environment.
- In depth knowledge and analysis of procurement process.
- High level of initiative and strong interpersonal skills.
- Good leadership and ability to lead and drive change.
- Solid organizational skills (handling workload and complexity).
- Foundational knowledge of contract law and legal terms & conditions.
- Effective and efficient communication skills.
- Knowledge of procurement and replenishment flux.
- Strong analytical skills with pragmatic and synthesis approach
- Strong planning, project management, and execution skills.
- Bilingual (French/English) is an asset but not mandatory.
- Proficient with standard office computer technology such as Microsoft Office products and the Internet. SAP utilization knowledge.
