About the opportunity:
The National Account Manager manages all aspects of the business relationship with several nationally based food service customers with the objective of delivering sales and new business development for food service in accordance with the business plan. The position is accountable for establishing as the preferred supplier of dairy products on a national basis.
The attributes we are looking for:
· Lead the customer in the development and execution of national sales strategies that maximize volume, profitability and share results across Canada through monitoring financial results, and making strategic recommendations (e.g. marketing methods, managing product mixes) to achieve agreed targets. Determine customer product needs, obtain product approval, negotiate pricing, develop contracts, obtain and communicate forecasted volume requirements, and conduct business reviews.
· Present category reviews to Category Buyers for the purposes of annual negotiation, business review, or launch of new product by analyzing internal and market data, and preparing and delivering presentation material. Identify issues and opportunities to further develop Lactalis business results.
· Provide advice and guidance in the development of the Lactalis and customer joint Annual Category Business Plans for branded & private label by validating future trade strategies, and identifying key category opportunities. Ensure follow-up of the strategic execution and achievement of agreed to business plan.
· Ensure Lactalis’ position as the national leader in dairy products through promoting product line at trade events and seeking opportunities to present technical and performance product information to the customer.
· Communicate national strategies to Regional Account Management personnel across Canada to ensure business development strategies are clear and aligned with Lactalis national and regional customer strategies.
· Ensure customer day-to-day needs are met by managing and coordinating efforts of all other functional areas (Customer service, Operations, Finance, Logistics), including the resolution of non-routine customer service issues such as quality and delivery.
What you will bring:
· University degree or college diploma in Business or Food Science or a related discipline
· Two to Five (2-5) years’ experience managing corporate accounts and/or national accounts
· Expertise and knowledge of the Food Service industry and or culinary skills
· Experience with multi-level relationship building
· Ability to balance customer needs with Lactalis business focus
· Strong analytical, planning, presentation, and problem-solving skills
· Professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
· Professionalism and confidence to present to and interact with customer’s senior management
· Proficient with standard office computer technology such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Social Media as well as SAP and BW
· Ability to perceive and interpret the customers’ requirements/demands and penetrate customer beyond immediate contact to build relationships
· Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and demands
· Strong Category and Project Management skills
· Strong leadership skills
· Ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment internally and externally
· Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
