Overview:
The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is responsible for pro-active selling to specific customer segments, administration of key sales systems and processes and providing sales support to the Commercial Manager (CM), Sales Representative (SRs), Customer Service Representatives (CSR) and Scale Personnel in the Market Area. This includes project/bid quoting, customer relations, quality control management, logistics management, assistance with credit collections, and systematic collection of market intelligence (ie. bid follow up & tracking.)
The Inside Sales Representative works closely with his/her fellow CMs, SRs, Materials Performance (Quality), CSRs, Scale Personnel and Credit & Collections personnel. ISRs coordinate closely with other product line personnel to ensure effective customer and market coordination.
Responsibilities:
Pro-Active Selling: ISR will have accountability for defined customer segments with detailed budgets and objectives. He/she will sell to existing customers and develop new customers. He/she will understand customers’ product and business requirements and translate the current and unmet needs of customers into sales opportunities.
Understands and communicates the quality of products, services, and resources employed by relevant competitors.
Pro-Active selling to specific customer segments,
Ability to read/understand material spec data sheets (gradations, sieves, etc)
Ability to read/understand maps, addresses, and county road ban maps
Determines the volume, price, freight and other supply-related details for existing and potential customers (and customer segments).
Sales Administration: The ISR will be responsible for the following:
Project quotation, and bid follow up
Systematic pricing (Quote set-up, price lists / item pricing),
Review of daily sales transactions for accuracy and error resolution prior to invoicing (Daily Edit Report from APEX, Daily ZSDBACK Report)
COD Reconciliation
General inquiries (ie. products, sources, pricing, end-use/application assistance),
Ensure accuracy of all internal construction quotes/jobs via communication between CSRs and construction
Coordination between customer and Materials Performance (Quality) group for material sample delivery
CM/SR Support: The ISR will work closely with the CMs and SRs by assisting with the following:
Generates “right-first-time” invoices through effective utilization of the quotation/billing system (SalesForce/SAP)
Directly enters quotations and performs error resolution.
Utilizes various sales tools (ie. QlikView, SalesForce) and coordinates with other sales and customer service personnel.
Run monthly/daily sales reports for Customers, CM/SR, Operations, & Land Group, by request
Credit & Collections: Establishes effective relationships with the customers; based on quality products, services and convenience.
Customer inquiries and complaint resolution through invoice setup issues, correcting pricing, PO issues, missing tickets (BOL)
Credit and Rebill Submittals to ABS
ABS & customer missing ticket requests
Safety:
Leads and promotes Lafarge Health & Safety commitment with our customers and our haulers.
Ensures all aspects of his/her role are executed in a safe manner.
Obeys safety guidelines when on construction sites and Lafarge operations.
Relationships with Others Jobs: The ISR will work closely with CMs, SRs, CSRs, Scale Personnel, After Sales Support, Logistics Manager, Operations Managers, Materials Performance Manager, Marketing Analyst, and Credit & Collections personnel.

Customer Base: Over 400 regional customers – 10-15 direct report customers
Tonnes: Total market volume 2 to 4 MT
Revenue: >$100M
Personnel to support: 1 CM, 1SR
SalesForce/DirectA Access
SalesForce Account for customer quoting and freight entry
Gatekeeper Role – Custom freight entry in SAP, quote approvals to APEX orders (all quotes must be approved – pushed to contract in SAP)
Customer portal DirectA for customer issue resolution
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years post secondary education, preferably a Bachelors degree with relevant work experience, or
A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction materials or a related industry.
