Overview:
The objective of this position is to provide estimating and pricing for tendered and negotiated projects as well as project manage successfully acquired projects in relation to concrete pipe and other drainage products. As well as maintain relationships with current and potential customers within a sales team, and helping with production planning and inventory management.
Dimensions:
Report directly to Sales Manager and assist with successfully running the Sales Dept.
Part of the Drainage Products Sales team which produces approximately 600 estimates per year.
Responsibilities:
Preparing detailed quantity take-offs and sales quotations
Project managing by coordinating between the customer and our production staff
Provide day-to-day sales and customer service support in the application of drainage products
Follow up on projects bid and gather price feedback & track bid results
Research potential upcoming projects and obtain drawings and specifications for projects
Strengthen relationships with existing and new customers
Prepare drawings of manhole and catch basin details as required
Work closely with engineering, QC and operation departments to understand project execution strategy
Marketing and providing customers solutions using drainage products
Assist with collections of monies outstanding from sales achieved
Assist customers with product installation instructions
Deal with and solve in an effective manner customer complaints
Run and maintain reports in Salesforce computer program
Learn and support Purchase Order function for raw materials, resale, and maintenance in the pipe plant
Support and provide drafting for team as necessary
Aid in inventory counts and management
Aid in updating and maintaining the pipe Build Plan
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Strong team player with a positive attitude and is a self-starter
Sound knowledge of concrete pipe and drainage products
Able to understand and work with specifications and construction drawings
Proficiency with MS Office applications, AutoCAD and MHPro
Effective written and oral communication skills
Strong math skills
Able to multi-task effectively and work in fast pace environment
High level of time management and prioritization skills
Education:
Post secondary diploma in construction or civil technology is preferred or the equivalent combination of education and work experience
Experience and Skill Set:
Post secondary diploma or at least 5 years experience in construction
Knowledge of construction drawings and documents
