Overview:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for providing the highest level of staffing services to Lafarge business leaders in Western Canada. This position delivers high quality professional candidates and advances the Lafarge brand across numerous markets and professional communities, while guiding hiring managers and candidates through the Lafarge recruitment and selection process. This individual will lead full lifecycle recruiting and will develop and maintain excellent relations with hiring managers, candidates, the HR team, post-secondary institutions, head hunting agencies and the community at-large. A wide degree of customer focus, business understanding, and time management are required. This position will also contribute to a variety of HR related projects across Western Canada.
Responsibilities:

Incorporates Health & Safety messaging in all external and internal recruitment communication
Probe on safety mindsets of candidates throughout the recruitment process
Recruitment &Workforce Planning:
Proactively manage full lifecycle recruiting for all salaried vacancies, in collaboration with the HR Team and Hiring Managers
Provide recruitment support for various hourly and contract openings in Western Canada
Liaise with Total Rewards team to identify internal and external compensation benchmarking, making recommendations to HR and Hiring Managers
Develop and maintain strong working partnerships with Lafarge leaders, understanding key drivers to their business, working hands-on to proactively help Hiring Managers build successful teams
Leverage online recruiting resources and in-house Applicant Tracking System to identify and recruit the very best candidates
Directly source candidates for hard to fill roles, create talent pipelines for hard to fill and strategic roles, working with Talent Manager and HR team to identify future gaps and strategic pipelines
Manage relationships with third party recruitment firms including fee negotiations and terms and conditions
Manage and coordinate all communication and interviews with candidates during the recruitment process and ensure a positive candidate experience
Utilization of face-to-face behavioral-based interviewing methodologies and administration of our personality assessment tool
Coach and train managers on interview guidelines, best practices, and a positive candidate experience
Provide interview and recruitment training to front line supervisors to support their hourly hiring endeavors
Work collaboratively with HR team on the extension of offers and the management of offer, negotiation, closing, and administrative components involved in full-cycle recruiting
Maintain a time to fill of 45 days or less on all open positions
Recruitment Strategy:
Work with the Talent Manager to create a streamlined recruiting strategy and process, based on business needs, market trends and best practices
Provide professional internal staffing services, minimizing requirements for 3rd party support
Participate in the development of ongoing creative and cost effective sourcing strategies
Employer Branding:
Deploy employer branding strategies to support recruitment efforts in the business
Leverage employee value proposition and the marketing of such to internal and external audiences
Update and maintenance of our on-line presence for recruitment and careers at Lafarge (eg. LinkedIn, Corporate website, Indeed, Twitter, etc)
Lead all career fair initiatives and sourcing activities for co-op and internship hires while developing and maintaining strong relationships with Universities, colleges, and other educational institutions across Western Canada.
Reporting, Systems & Data Analytics:
Maintain accurate documentation on all candidates, searches, hiring manager feedback, and other recruiting activities to ensure a safe and thorough audit if required
Also prepare feedback reports to the organization on recruitment activities including recruitment metrics, market trends, critical skills shortages, competitor information, and future manpower demands.
Maintain relationships with 3rd party vendors for gathering data on effectiveness of job postings, applicant tracking, candidate experience, return on investment
Diversity & Inclusion:
Develop strategic relationships with community organizations and diversity groups to create pipelines to meet our Diversity & Inclusion goals
Create and foster relationships with diverse post secondary and professional institutions/organizations to attract and recruit alumni and diversity candidates
Research and develop new opportunities to share the Lafarge employer brand with under-represented populations
Relationship with Other Jobs:
Initiates and maintains excellent working relationship within the Human Resources team
High level of interaction with Business Line Managers – The incumbent is expected to develop a thorough understanding of the business needs, business drivers, and culture and get up to speed quickly on the needs of the operations
Primary point of contact for all candidates, providing a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process

Qualifications:
Education:
Diploma or Bachelors’ degree in HR and/or Business related field
At least 5 years’ experience in full life-cycle recruiting, preferably in an industrial or technical environment
Agency recruiting/Account Management experience an asset
Experience and Skill Set:
Knowledge of full life-cycle recruiting components including sourcing, qualifying, interviewing, coaching, networking, legal considerations and labour standards, job analysis, wage and salary trends, relationship management, due diligence
Demonstrated experience with online sourcing and database mining
Knowledge and past use of a Cloud based Applicant Tracking System (iCims)
Demonstrated ability to command the attention and respect of leaders
Demonstrated ability to function/recruit on a national, multi-location level
Ability to travel as required
