Apprenticeship Mentor & Pathway Specialist (2 Positions)
The Program:
Landscape Ontario Horticultural Trades Association (LO) is hiring a qualified Apprenticeship Mentor & Pathway Specialist to support the growth and continued success of the Horticulture Technician 441C Apprenticeship Program. This position will support the growing Group Sponsorship Program and objectives.
Since 2016, Landscape Ontario has been an MLTSD approved Group Sponsor for the Horticulture Technician 441C apprenticeship program. In this role Landscape Ontario is responsible for administration of:
LO is hiring a high performing, qualified Apprenticeship Mentor & Pathway Specialist to provide case management support and mentorship services to apprentices candidates/applicants, apprentices and employers from registration through to successful completion. This work will be supported by the launch and implementation of new products and services that will be developed and that include a trade readiness program, apprentice success resources (study manual & completion toolkit), training standard orientations, a digital training tracker and coordinating of on-the-job skills rotation/matching services, etc. In addition, employers and trainers will receive train-the-trainer support to help employers create workplace cultures of training and advancement. From April 2021- March 2024, this project aims to recruit and register 675 new apprentices and 225 new employers and support the completion of all eligible apprentices currently in progress.
The Position:
The Apprenticeship Mentor & Pathway Specialist will take apprentice mentorship and case management support aimed at employers and apprentices to the next level. This position is pivotal to promoting the program to attract and recruit new entrant workers, incumbent workers and employers so that they can access the gift of the apprenticeship program. The ultimate goal of this role is to increase apprenticeship registrations and completions supported by new tools, resources and strategic case management/mentorship best practices.

Position 1: New full-time position: Annual salary range is $60,000 plus benefits. 1 Year Contract with opportunity to renew.
Position 2: Maternity Leave coverage April 2022- July 2023: Annual salary: $65,000 with no benefits
Location: Office is in Milton, Ontario
Reports to: These positions reports to the Apprenticeship Program Manager
Works directly with: Program staff, partners, employers, participants etc.
