Finance and Accounting Controller

Reporting to the President, the Controller will be responsible for oversight of all accounting and reporting activities. In this position the Controller will develop, mentor and support the accounting staff, systems and accountabilities, audit and interim reporting monthly, and will work closely with the senior leadership team.

Working closely with Division Directors, the Controller will work with and their staffs, not only to educate them regarding finance and accounting procedures but also to explore how the finance function can support program operations.

In addition, she or he will partner with senior leadership, human resources (HR) and information technology (IT) staff to enhance and better integrate finance, HR, and IT functions.

Specifically, the Controller Will:

· Coordinate all audit and reporting activity.

· Work closely with external accountants to review monthly financial reporting, cash flow and consolidated reporting

· Provide financial reports to the company’s lenders, as required

· Ensure accountability of the accounting staff to adhere to deadlines and processes

· Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of financial forecasts.

· Provide weekly cashflow analysis for each division

· Assist Division leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.

Qualifications

This is an extraordinary opportunity for a mature leader with seven to ten years of accounting and finance experience, ideally specialized in accounting and audit function for a growing entrepreneurial company, followed by experience mentoring, and building an environment of accountability of those reporting to the position.

· Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.

· Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment as a proactive, hands-on strategic thinker who will own, in partnership with the President, the financial responsibility.

· The preferred candidate must have a CPA, CGA or a CPA, CMA or comparable experience.

· Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments

· Commitment to recruiting, mentoring, training, and retaining a diverse team; the foresight and ability to delegate accordingly

· Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus. simple reporting

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board or other outside partners

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $75,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
