Software Developer – Integration – (Permanent Position)

Our client, one of the leaders in the Insurance sector is looking to grow their team and is hiring for a Software Integration Developer.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-5:00PM

Hybrid

Location: London, ON or Vancouver, BC or Campbell River, BC

The incumbent will assist in creating a seamless digital experience for external and internal customers, learning the business process and how customers and staff interact. The ideal candidate has well-rounded experience with integrations, programming, troubleshooting, and scripting. This role will support the existing technology team responsible for development and maintaining software integrations across enterprise front and back-office systems.

Responsibilities:

• Build highly scalable and available cloud-based solutions.
• Design, build and ship software integration solutions of core digital insurance systems (including performance, observability, scalability, and reliability).
• Work with analysts to gather, analyze requirements and define test plans aligned with business needs.
• Test solutions, and conduct design and code reviews.
• Prepare and improve technical documentation such as workflows, testing procedures and performance specifications.
• Work in an agile environment to release software on a regular schedule.
• Record, track, and report integration performance and software quality metrics.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
• 2-5 years’ software development and integration experience.
• Fluent in at least one programming language such as C#, Python, Java, knowledge of JavaScript, HTML.
• Experience developing on Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms.
• Experience working with serverless technologies, API gateways, workflow orchestration engines and microservices.
• Experience working with REST APIs and webservices in both synchronous and asynchronous workflows.
• Experience with version control using tools such as Git.
• Fluent SQL knowledge and familiarity with MS SQL Server or another database environment.
• Familiar with enterprise integration patterns including and security protocols.
• Experience using PowerBI or any other analytics technology.
