The role:
Reporting to the Center Supervisor, the ideal Registered Early Childhood Educator (Preschool Room) Teacher will identify learning objectives of the children, create and manage a variety of learning environments and activities that will provide opportunities for children to develop to their fullest potential.
Learning Jungle teachers work as a team with fellow staff to promote the interests of the children in particular and the school in general.
The successful candidate will be accountable for:
Implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
Provide opportunity for creative expression through the mediums of art, dramatic play and music
Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips and special activities
Establish and maintain a warm supportive relationship with the families of the children.
Knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act and knowledge of licensing regulations
Keep accurate and current, the records as required by the Centre and the Ministry.
Attend meetings and professional development seminars as required
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
Be responsible for maintaining a healthy, safe, clean, stimulating environment for children in the assigned classroom and for the Centre.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills:
MUST BE A REGISTERED EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR with the College of ECEs
Early Childhood Education Diploma / Degree recognized by the College of ECEs (www.college-ece.ca)
Valid Vulnerable Sector Check
Valid Standard First Aid Certificate (including Infant and child CPR)
Updated Health Check and Police Clearance
Knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act and licensing regulations
CCEYA Self Test Certificate
AODA Certificate
Food Handlers (Preferred)
