About The Position
The Student Success Advisor is responsible for a broad scope of work, spanning student retention initiatives that begin prior to a student’s first day of classes, which continue throughout their entire time at Lethbridge College. Reporting to the Manager, Student Success, the Advisor spends much of their time working directly with students, and requires a high degree of knowledge related to all things Lethbridge College, and they must be able to remain calm, supportive, and student focused as they help vulnerable students navigate the post-secondary system. The Advisor is also responsible for maintaining student records and then providing support to collect, analyze, and share information with various groups internally. They must be an excellent relationship builder as they will work closely with service areas and academic centres. The Advisor must have an excellent degree of problem solving, empathy, listening, and collaboration. They keep current with trends and belong to professional associations to continue to learn and grow and make recommendations for future initiatives at Lethbridge College that ultimately lead to increased student retention.
