About the job:
A fire watch attendant is a worker that is trained to continuously observe hot work activity for detection of, and response to fires during hot work operations. They are charged with the responsibility to stop work if necessary and conduct essential steps for restoring safe conditions in the hot work area.
- Standing and walking for long periods of time
- Ensure that suitable fire extinguishers are available in sufficient numbers, and that they are qualified to use them (appropriate training completed)
- Clean (remove material) & sweep work area before hot work tasks commence – ensure that all combustible materials are removed from the hot work zone
- Complete pre-task hazards assessment documentation daily
- Wear mandatory PPE in accordance with policies and procedures
- Represents Levert with professionalism and adheres to safety policies
What you need:
- Team oriented, good communication & interpersonal skills
- Ability to foster strong team and client relationship building skills
- Ability to follow Health & Safety programs & procedures
- Own transportation – public transportation not available
- Half Mask, WHMIS, Sudbury INO will be provided
