As part of the Technology team, the Software Engineer is responsible for the design, development and delivery of high-quality business features and solutions on LGM Platforms, including our proprietary LGM HUB. This role offers an interesting and growing technology stack where you can be working from the front to back and in the cloud. This application is actively used by dealerships and our automotive partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible to develop, maintain and enhance software applications with high quality contributions.
- Analyze and troubleshoot program code and correct errors as required.
- Familiar with design patterns and strives to consistently produce high quality and maintainable code.
- Refactors code to increase operating efficiency and extensibility, as necessary.
- Be highly responsive to critical production issues providing timely and effective solutions.
- Writes testable quality code with high test coverage via unit, integration, and acceptance test frameworks.
- Has a demonstrated ability to solve moderately complex problems with little assistance or supervision.
- Gain the team’s respect with the quality of work, technical knowledge, and proactive work ethic.
- Produce appropriate documentation and design artifacts to communicate with peers and to support the ongoing maintenance of the system.
- Can explain, in detail, why a specific solution was used, and how it works.
- Participate in code reviews both as a reviewer and as a reviewee. Discussions during code reviews must be respectful and facilitate skill building for all members of the team.
Required Skills:
- Strong planning and organizational abilities are required.
- Excellent OO based programming skills
- Familiarity with design patterns and general design considerations.
- Skilled in the basics of SQL
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Passion for software best practices and continuous learning
- Demonstrated talent in the core tech stack, including .NET (C#), NodeJS, and MS Azure.
Desirable Skills:
- GraphQL and API’s, Azure, Kubernetes, JS or Typescript
- Knowledge of functional programming is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum 1 years’ experience in a software engineering role
