Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Senior Manager, FP&A and be responsible for the development and maintenance of the annual budget, quarterly forecasting, capital project tracking, and financial analysis.

Primary Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Development and maintenance of annual budget and long-range plans, quarterly forecasts, including tracking of major capital projects
• Preparation of the annual Board book and budget presentations to the Board
• Analyze and explain the performance of the business as compared to plan
• Assists with complex accounting analysis and financial models
• Prepares recommendation on quarterly Guidance

Monthly Management reporting and analysis

• Participates in month-end processes including account reconciliations
• Development and maintenance of management reporting for executive leadership

Quarterly External reporting

• Prepares the Operations and consolidated sections of the MD&A
• Assists in the preparation of the quarterly Board report and Board memo
• Preparation of schedules for auditors

Other

• Other tasks as required
• Preparation of financial due diligence packages

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years combined experience in accounting and finance

• Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their CPA designation

• Previous experience strongly desired in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and cost accounting
• Advanced Excel skills and excellent knowledge of MS Excel
• Knowledge of IFRS, US-GAAP is considered a plus
• Detail oriented and organized
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with high credibility at all levels of the organization
• Must demonstrate flexibility, strong commitment and proven ability to meeting deadlines, and solid decision-making skills
• Self-motivator with ability to work independently
