Provide actuarial and administration servicing support for our Canadian and international clients in the pension area. Strong communication skills, good analytical skills, attention to detail, self-management and organization skills are required.
Responsibilities:
Be responsible for data analysis, validations, and handling, using LifeWorks’s internal software/systems
Performs data reconciliations and benefit / costing calculations
Preparation of standard pension benefit calculations / statements (retirements, terminations, etc.) in accordance with plan rules and legislative requirements
Assist with other pension plan administration tasks
Work with databases and LifeWorks’s internal software/systems
Prepares data and performs actuarial valuations for pension plans
Construct worksheets / databases using excel and access to analyze data
Prepare draft reports on analyses
Receive and respond to routine enquiries and requests from clients
Takes direction from, and supports, team members
Attend internal training sessions to build knowledge of industry topics and trends
Assist with special projects, as required
Become familiar with regulatory environments – legislation and policies
Requirements:
University degree in actuarial science or mathematics
Successful completion of at least 2 SOA exams preferred
Strong competency with MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and Access
Combination of excellent analytical and mathematical skills with strong work ethic
Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative and independence
