Summary

The Instructional Designer, Workplace Learning Solutions (WLS) will be responsible for managing the development of new & existing training products, and be heavily involved in all aspects of design.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in client meetings to determine their learning needs/requirements
• Collaborates and provides consultation with business partners and subject matter experts to analyze the client’s needs
• Design and develop new learning programs to address the client’s learning needs. This includes developing detailed design plans, all instructional materials for instructor-led and virtual instructor-led courses (to include facilitator and participant guides, handouts and other supporting materials), writing storyboards, and developing eLearning courses using Articulate Storyline
• Develop documents to meet accessibility standards
• Re-design existing learning programs to address the unique needs of the client and adapt to their requirements and environment
• Maintains all learning materials, handbooks, user guides and update them as needed
• Conduct research and liaise with Subject Matter Experts to gather and validate content throughout the design and development process
• Liaise with external vendors who support the development of courses
• Develop measurement and evaluation tools to test the effectiveness of the training program
• Troubleshoot issues with eLearning courses
• Manage instructional design projects throughout the design and development cycle, to ensure its successful completion; anticipate and escalate project issues as they develop
• Conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions as needed

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in related discipline   
• At least 5 years of experience in instructional design for soft-skills training
• Experience designing and developing instructor-led, virtual instructor-led and eLearning courses
• Adult Learning, Organizational Development, EAP or HR experience
• Proficiency in using various media tools including eLearning authoring software like Articulate Storyline, editing, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge
• Project management skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical skills, presentation, and consultative skills
• CTDP designation is an asset
