POSITION: IT Technical Analyst

UNIT: Information Technology (IT)

STATUS: Full-Time

START DATE: As Soon As Possible

SALARY: $27.34 – $32.17

POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Technical Analyst provides first line response for all Information and Communications Technology

(ICT) users requiring assistance with ICT issues and problems. Responsibility for maintaining, repairing and upgrading software / hardware. Further maintains door access system, wireless as well as the physical network connections and infrastructures. The IT Technical Analyst is responsible for tracking issues through to resolution and updating the internal knowledgebase, escalating more involved problems to the appropriate support team members. Responsible for updating daily status reports and acts as a liaison between customers and information technology personnel, providing a single view to the organization for information technology related problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1 to 3 year diploma in Information Technology or related training in information technology or computer information systems required.
• 3 to 5 years previous related work experience
• Experience in the provision of Tier 1 technical support preferred

EFFORT:

• Moderate degree of physical effort
• High degree of mental effort

POSITION-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

• Respond to requests for technical assistance and log the issue in the help desk management system
• Support users / provide training on new and existing hardware and software
• Support / replace end user mobile devices
• Develop strategies to implement new / upgrade software packages
• Support end user mobile devices
• Request quotes and purchase new hardware and software
• Maintain, repair, replace existing hardware
• Maintain door access system
• Install / maintain wireless and physical network connection and infrastructure
• Create, deploy, manage and document imaging PCs
• Acts as a liaison between customers and information technology personnel, providing a single view to the organization for information technology related problems.

HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs/wk, including after hour on call support, including weekends
