Live Patrol Looking for Accountant at Mississauga, ON Full Time

The candidate will be responsible for maintaining Live Patrol’s day-to-day financial accounting tasks. The candidate will correspond with clients and suppliers, perform related duties as assigned, and report to the CEO and Human Resources Manager of Live Patrol Inc.

The successful candidate will be a confident, experienced, and innovative thinker with superior organizational skills and the ability to handle a variety of responsibilities. The role requires the candidate to be extremely well organized, able to manage conflicting demands, and demonstrate a high regard for confidentiality. In this role, you are responsible for the coordination and maintenance of the general accounting functions. Exceptional time management and communication skills and sound judgement are essential to managing relationships in the department.

Job Duties:

• Track, monitor and manage all accounts
• Recording transactions such as income and outgoings, and posting them to various accounts within the online accounting software
• Process daily payments
• Performing daily banking activities
• Manage and perform monthly invoicing
• Prepare monthly P&L review and Balance sheet review
• Prepare any recurring, accrual and adjusting entries
• Create and manage client and supplier profiles within the accounting software
• Review of trial balance and accounts to ensure accuracy and reconciliation of accounts
• Perform banking and general ledger reconciliations
• Manage and monitor aging accounts and expense liability balances
• Receive and produce quotes and purchase orders to various clients and suppliers
• Preparation of the monthly GST, HST and PST returns
• Manage and maintain accounts payable & receivables
• Manage company credit card accounts
• Coordinate and liaise with the external accounting firm
• Perform affiliated duties related to the position or upon immediate request from Management

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA Designation (Asset)
• 4 + years of accounting/finance working experience
• Experience in monthly tax filing, remittance and AP & AR cycles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) with the ability to prepare and modify excel documents
• Strong analytical skills along with a solid understanding of accounting theories and tax implications for Canada
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good decision-making and problem-solving management skills.
• Practical knowledge of and demonstrated using software database programs and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage to change priorities
• Energetic self-starter who is able to take initiative, work with minimum supervision, work on tasks with frequent interruptions and achieve objectives through others
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate and interact effectively with team members across multiple departments, a team player with good judgment
• Able to quickly learn and be proficient in understanding the overall departmental functions, goals, and visions
