Currently, our growing team is looking for an Optometric Assistant who can work with us on a permanent, full-time basis at our LMC Brampton Optometry location.

The Optometric Assistant supports our Eye Care clinics and Optometrists by obtaining preliminary case history and pretesting patients for eye exams; performing reception work such as answering phones, checking patients in/out, and sending out referrals; maintaining records, correspondence and filing.

Responsibilities:

• Greeting patients in person, by telephone, or online
• Booking/Scheduling appointments and making recalls
• Pretesting patients and other auxiliary tests
• Scanning, filing and faxing reports/charts
• Facilitate patient referrals/reports to other healthcare professionals

Requirements:

• One year experience in an optical setting
• High School or College Graduate
• Ophthalmic Assistant diploma preferred
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, friendly and caring, outgoing personality
• Customer service experience is essential
• Must be proficient with computers and monetary transactions
• Able to follow directions and take personal responsibility for actions
• Must demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Fashionable professional attire
• Passion for learning and dealing with people
• Able to follow through on tasks with attention to detail
• Able to multitask
