Currently, our growing team is looking for an Optometric Receptionist who can work with us on a permanent, full-time basis at our LMC Vaughan Optometry location.

The Optometric receptionist is the face of the office and the unifying link in the office. The patients’ experience starts with the person who answers the phone and greets people at the reception – which is why this role is so important to us. We are a busy optometry office, and we need someone who understands customer service and who can work under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • 90% answering telephones
  • Reply to patients regarding queries or scheduling
  • Booking/Scheduling/confirming appointments
  • Relive front desk; greeting patients, checking patients in/out
  • Recall patients either by phone or email
  • Facilitate patient referrals/reports to other healthcare professionals
  • Scanning, filing and faxing reports/charts

Requirements:

  • One year experience in an optical setting is an asset
  • High School or College Graduate
  • Ophthalmic Assistant diploma preferred
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills and passion for dealing with people
  • Strong interpersonal skills, friendly and caring, outgoing personality
  • Customer service experience is essential
  • Able to follow directions and take personal responsibility for actions
  • Must demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Able to follow through on tasks with attention to detail, able to multitask
