Job Profile: Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis
Reports to: Director, Finance
Role Mandate:
This position plays a key role providing financial support to the Home & Entertainment and Health & Beauty Merchandising Business Unit of the Discount division. The successful candidate will contribute to the Finance team’s ability to provide Data Driven Insights to the business and aid with the achievement of financial targets.
Accountabilities:
Develop financial models and analyze results to enhance forecast accuracy
Collaborate with category teams, business leads, and finance partners to identify opportunities to improve reporting and forecasting
Deep dive analysis and work with business partners to resolve complex financial issues
Participate in special projects and tracking of strategic initiatives
Perform variance analysis on P&L results and provide financial insights to the business
Collaborate with other departments and build strong working relationships
Weekly reporting to track financial performance
Understanding of inventory concepts
Role Requirements:
Minimum 3-5 years of retail experience
University degree in Business, Finance and/or a related field with (or be pursuing) an accounting/finance designation
Advanced Excel/Access proficiency and experience with business intelligence (BI) tools such as Microstrategy
SAP experience preferred
SQL/SAS experience is an asset
Self-starter with ability to thrive in ambiguity

Superior analytical skills with the ability to provide accurate financial information and business insights
Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively source information, obtain approvals, build relationships, and provide sufficient influence to achieve success

Excellent organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
