JOB SUMMARY:
The Junior Accountant’s primary responsibilities will be assisting in the day-to-day operation of the accounting department, assisting with the examination of Ecommerce sales and payments to determine potential fraud risk.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accounting Duties
- Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings
- Prepare journal entries and maintain proper supporting documentations
- Assist with bank reconciliation process
- Assist with fraud, chargeback, and open invoice analysis
- Process the annual business license renewals and property taxes
- Prepare and respond to government surveys and annual reports
- Assist with internal and external audit requirement
- Ad hoc analysis and special projects as required from time to time.
- All other duties or projects as assigned.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
- Timely reconciliation of cash and credit cards accounts.
- Timely closing of the accounting period.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
- College diploma in related field (finance, accounting, business)
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or quantitative role is required
SKILLS:
- Excellent proficiency in Excel is required (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s)
- Advance computer skills with searching and analyzing online databases and big data
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to travel to Toronto Office, following hybrid schedule
