POSITION: Human Resources Generalist

P*O*SI*T*ION SUMMARY:
The HR Generalist will be leading all recruitment activities such as resume review, telephone interviews, second interviews, reference checks and will coordinate orientations and on boarding for all new employees. The incumbent will also participate in various projects pertaining to general Human Resources such as health and safety, training and development, HR employee inquires, along with other ongoing projects. The HR Generalist will be maintaining employee records using ADP Workforce Now. The incumbent will also conduct and support the Senior Payroll Administrator in the biweekly payroll. The candidate will be responsible for administrating security clearances for all new hires and renewals.
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:
· A minimum of 3 years experience in Human Resources is required
· Completion of a post-secondary degree in Human Resources or a related field
· Experience in the recruitment of various levels of positions
· Experience managing and completing projects is an asset
· Previous Payroll experience is a definite asset
· ADP Workforce Now is preferred
· Experience in Health and Safety activities is considered an asset
ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:
· Prioritize and organize workload in order to meet multiple competing deadlines
· Work effectively with all levels of staff to provide awesome customer service
· Promote and foster a team environment within and across all departments
· Discretion, diplomacy, and tact in communications with the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality always is essential
· Ability to generate ideas, evaluate alternatives and solve problems effectively
· Work with numbers and spreadsheet data
· Knowledge of modern and progressive HR management practices and principles
· Knowledge of current HR practices and able to remain current on relevant practices and legislation
· Knowledge of the Employment Standards Act
· Knowledge of or familiarity with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards is an asset
