We are a dynamic Montreal-based company (50 employees), active mainly in Quebec today, with a strong ambition to develop sales in Ontario. We believe there are opportunities in our field, and many potential clients from the industrial sector to whom we could supply our custom, machined parts, mechanical parts, sub-assemblies (main applications : agricultural equipment, forestry, heavy machinery, transportation, trucks and trailers, snow and ice removal, etc.). We are therefore looking for a sales representative based in Ontario, close to industrial areas.
Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director in Montreal, the representative’s main function will be to develop our sales in Ontario (volume and profitability), increase awareness and penetration of our company, and create a loyal customer base in the province.
Our organisation gives freedom to employees we trust, and rewards performance. Colleagues are nice and a technical team will support you in Montreal for the quotes and the client follow-up. You will be responsible for being on the field and visiting new customers. Our products have high-quality and our services are attractive to customers. There is demand in Ontario, and the good economical context today is generating interest for our services.
R*esponsibilities – Your role*
· Identify prospects : Establish lists of target customers (from your contacts, associations, internet search, driving around the region) and prioritise action based on their potential.
· Send emails, then make calls to initiate contact, or simply show-up at potential clients, and ultimately generate meetings, to develop new customers.
· Fully understand customer needs, recommend the appropriate solution, write and present offers to customers and ensure proactive follow-up.
· Manage calendar of appointments and travel arrangements.
· Have daily and proactive contacts with management in Montreal to feedback on activity, follow-up on clients, escalate issues, report performance, fill-in CRM, express advice on strategy on the field.
· Provide professional after-sales service to ensure customer satisfaction. Be close to your clients and attentive to any additional business they can generate.
· Build a positive reputation for the company.
· Ultimately, achieve and exceed set sales targets.
The skills and competences we are looking for:
– Trustworthy / Energetic / Passionate candidate.
– A good knowledge of the industry of metal machining or mechanical manufacturing processes (experience in metal parts, metal transformation, welded assemblies, surface treatment, …)
– An established and network in the manufacturing sector in Ontario (heavy equipment, trucks and trailers, agricultural, forestry, etc.).
– Capacity to adapt to various clients and profiles
– Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
– Strong capacity to engage with new customers who have no awareness of our company.
– Customer-oriented and problem-solving skills.
– Able to be independent and mature in the follow-up on calls, calendar, visits.
– Sensitive to reputation and able to establish credibility for the company.
– Great sense of initiative.
– Autonomous, self-disciplined.
– Sense of ethics, integrity.
– Must own a vehicle and a valid driver’s license. Must be on the road (in his region) 60% of the week. Occasional sleep-overs when necessary. Must drive to HeadQuarters in Montreal 3 to 4 times in the year.
