Intermediate Designer – Vancouver
M Moser Associates’ Vancouver office is hiring a talented Intermediate Interior Designer with extensive workplace project experience, strong TECHNICAL skills, and a beautiful portfolio of awe-inspiring conceptual designs, to contribute to the design and delivery of some of the most notable workplace transformation projects in the business.
Job Overview
As an integral member of our Project Team, as our Intermediate Designer we will rely on your abilities and unmatched talent for conceptual design and storytelling in the early stages of our projects, partnering closely with senior design leaders to create enchanting, intuitive, effective, one-of-a-kind design solutions that win clients’ business! You will actively participate in client interviews and will become a trusted confidant for clients once the work is won through to the end of the project lifecycle. As the project moves into design development, you will support the Design Lead in the development of design solutions and creation of 3D visualization. Leading into contract documentation and the execution of the drawings and specifications that bring the design to life.
Key Responsibilities
· Contribute to the story of the design and work closely with design lead to refine and augment
· Be a hands-on designer who is able and excited to create design materials
· Generate conceptual designs using a variety of graphic techniques, including hand-drawn and computer-generated visuals, and 3D visualization
· Prepare written specifications, working drawings, and construction documents, including verification that designs meet applicable building codes where necessary
· Collaborate and establish trust between the project team, client, and other project stakeholders
· Problem-solving project design issues and applying inventive solutions that satisfy design issues and make clients happy
Job Requirements
This is a TECHNICAL support position and we are looking for a Intermediate Designer who is inspired by generating original ideas and considering design impact on multiple scales, from the individual to the urban context. Designers who succeed with us are excited to push the limits and change the way we think about design. You are a natural-born storyteller with a flame that inspires those around you. Passionate about high-level design and design strategy, you are no stranger to getting your hands dirty to get the job done. You are deadline driven, detail oriented and thrive in a team environment. Most importantly, you love what you do.
Qualifications & Key Competencies
· 5+ years of work experience contributing to workplace interior design projects
· Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Design or other related field
· Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), InDesign
· Skilled in executing detailed working drawings
· Exceptional organizational skills and experience effectively contributing to multiple projects at the same time
· Knowledge of local codes and permitting processes and requirements
· Excellent ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
