Join our team of talented Business Continuity experts who are working to prepare our organization to keep operating during any business interruption. Our team promotes the business continuity framework with partners across IGM Financial to develop and test business continuity plans to avoid significant disruptions to our business, to keep our employees safe, and respond in a crisis.
The Manager – Business Continuity will report to the Senior Manager – Business Continuity.
The successful candidate will leverage their knowledge of Business Continuity, IGM Financial and/or the financial services industry to actively partner with people across the organization to continuously assess and improve our preparedness and recoverability.
This hybrid role (based in Toronto or Winnipeg) requires someone who enjoys working across the IGM organization, working with business leaders to help them identify their teams’ risks and work with them to develop viable plans that can be tested to ensure everyone is confident we are prepared to continue our business if a major disruption occurs.
Responsibilities include:
Research and investigate business continuity risks and provide recommendations to improve recovery strategies
Analyse, assess and report on current recovery plan capabilities
Interpret diverse regulatory and industry standards in conjunction with business and industry partners.
Plan and coordinate testing to ensure recovery plans are viable
Track and report on the status of items identified during testing and recovery plan review
Engage business leaders across IGM to guide them through the Business Continuity Management framework – including business impact analysis and recovery planning.
Liaise with business and technical departments across IGM to encourage a full understanding of business recovery needs and system recovery capabilities.
Develop and deliver materials and presentations to guide and educate IGM on BCM policies and best practices.
Provide support to leadership during an incident that impacts IGM business operations.
Qualifications:
At least 5 years demonstrated working experience with business continuity frameworks, practices, and procedures.
Post-secondary degree/diploma in a relevant business discipline
Ability to work in challenging and ambiguous environments and drive continuous improvement across broad functional areas.
Strong customer and service-oriented mindset, coupled with flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency, and ease.
Demonstratable proficiency in Microsoft Office products required – Word, Excel (advanced functions), PowerPoint, SharePoint
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
Business acumen and operational expertise including an understanding of wealth and financial asset management operations preferred.
Business Continuity professional membership and accreditation and/or experience an asset.
Strong organizational skills and interpersonal abilities
Ability to develop, maintain and manage business relationships.
Strong team skills with the ability for sound decision making and judgement.
Demonstrated analytical ability with a focus on detail and accuracy.
