Position Summary

We are seeking a Product Developer to join our Product Development & Production Team. The position requires extensive knowledge of apparel construction and manage the development process of multiple programs to help us take our designs from concept to a manufactured product. This role required effective communication between the product and sales team along with exceptional project and time management skills. Primary duties include reviewing design work, developing a costing spec, ensuring that the finished product meets the quality standards of Mad Engine.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Create detailed technical specification packages for overseas suppliers for both costing and production purposes.
• Initiate and manage the development process for programs with priorities and initial requirements to meet agreed timelines.
• Communicate with internal teams regarding program status, tasks, questions, and issues.
• Collaborate with team and factory throughout development to ensure that customer requirements and timelines are met and that all issues or problems are resolved prior to production.
• Create and maintain production tech packs which include technical sketches, fit spec information and fit/ PP fit comments.
• Coordinate fit reviews and approve fits and pre- production submissions in conjunction with PD/ Merchandisers. includes measuring fits and evaluating construction).
• Handle daily communication with overseas vendors for assigned programs.
• Track status of samples and submissions.
• Seeks out coaching from leaders and peers to improve productivity, leads own learning.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have 3-5 years of experience in Product Development position or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in apparel design is an asset
• Knowledge of fabric and garment construction. Strong knowledge in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photo Shop, Microsoft Excel, etc.
• Organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
