Coordinate, records, plans and leads assigned projects.
Responsible for leading engineering changes and assigned programs/projects.
Effectively lead several projects simultaneously.
Ensure that all project milestones are met as expected by the manager and meet production plant expectations.
Initiate plans and ideas for cost reduction, continuous improvement and / or quality improvement measures.
Champion APQP process and track open issues list.
Report to the manager on a regular basis the status and any deviation from timing and quality expectation.
Responsible for prototype builds to ensure issues in product design, manufacturing, assembly and processing are detected at the earliest stages of the product development cycle.
Maintain adequate filing systems (including electronic/computer files) to ensure all information is properly stored and easily retrieved.
Participate in tooling design reviews.
Provide support to other business areas on all aspects of project related matters.
Liaise with Program manager, Manufacturing and Quality Engineers to resolve manufacturing concerns.
Provide guidance and support to other departments (i.e. Quality, Production, Maintenance) to ensure successful launch performance.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and P.Eng designation or eligible for registration towards P.Eng.
Hands on experience and working knowledge of Core Tools (SPC, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA), blueprint reading, GD&T
Able to travel outside the city/country. “Off-site” facility for different periods of time may be required.
Minimum of three (3) years project engineering experience, product design, development and manufacturing with three (3) to four (4) years’ experience in the automotive industry,.
Must have presentation, facilitation and organizational skills, and be a team player.
Excellent (English) communication skills, both verbal and written.
