About the Role
The successful candidate must be capable and possess proven leadership in contract management, negotiations, procurement and supply chain management in support of Cosma North America Purchasing goals and objectives.
The position will be responsible to negotiate, analyze, manage and execute contracts as they pertain to Coma North America. The role will support operating facilities within the Cosma North America and will establish strong, consistent supplier management processes, and practices for key commodities supporting the success of the organization.
Your Responsibilities
• The position is responsible for coordinating cost reduction initiatives, supply chain management, contract management, legal compliance, supplier risk management and executing cross divisional initiatives encompassing common commodities while driving positive results to support Cosma International.
• Cultivate strong collaborative Procurement teams at the Divisions, support and mentor as appropriate, sharing best practices to maximize purchasing plans, facilitate and improve the sourcing process (policies, strategies, analysis, nomination, etc.), defend against price increases, supplier exits and legal issues.
• Create and implement purchasing initiatives to meet and exceed Divisional and Group cost reduction objectives established by Cosma International, working with other regions and other Magna Groups where necessary. Provide quarterly reports as requested.
• Develop preferred suppliers in key commodities and identify new sources as necessary to maintain a robust supply base to drive improvements in Delivery, Quality, Service, Technology and Cost.
• Work with Magna on Supplier Risk Management and represent Cosma N/A purchasing when necessary.
• Manage rebate agreements and facilitate collection.
• Perform other duties as required including occasionally support of divisions on site.
Who we are looking for
• University Degree and/or Community College graduate in field of Engineering, Business Purchasing, or Supply Chain Management
• +10 years of purchasing experience in the automotive industry
• Supply Chain Management designation is preferred but not required (SCMP, SPSM, CPP, CPPM, CGPP, CPPC)
• Strong knowledge of purchasing related laws and regulations within the Canadian, USA and Mexico Markets
• General knowledge in Accounting & Finance, Marketing and Logistics
• Strong process and product knowledge
• Proficiency in English business acumen (verbal, written), additional language skills an asset
