We are seeking an experienced Rewards and Recognition Specialist to join our Total Rewards team. Under the limited guidance of
the Manager, Total Rewards, will be responsible to develop Manitoba Hydro’s Rewards and Recognition Strategy, and lead the
implementation, evaluation and programming of this strategy for the Enterprise. Will be responsible for platform management,
performance recognition programs, merit pay, service awards, total rewards statements, employee appreciation and continuous
improvement initiatives for the Total Rewards portfolio. Will also develop scalable and impactful programming, demonstrate subject
matter expertise, deliver creative and effective communications, and share success metrics, dashboards and analytics. The
Rewards and Recognition Specialist acts as the champion for all functions supporting the Rewards and Recognition (R&R) program.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, implementation, evaluation, consolidation and refinement of reward and recognition programs
and services for the enterprise through collaboration and innovation with internal and external partners.
- Plan, design, develop, and conduct analysis, interpret results and make recommendations that support effective reward and
recognition programs aligned to Manitoba Hydro’s business strategy.
- Collaborate with Digital & Technology for the selection, roll out and sustainment of new recognition technology platforms for
the enterprise.
- Ensure rewards and recognition offerings are comprehensive, competitive and lead to a positive user experience, incorporate
findings and trends into programmatic work.
- Contribute and coordinate the delivery of important messages, timely and strategic dashboards, metrics and other content to
demonstrate program effectiveness to key Manitoba Hydro stakeholders regarding recognition and other related programs.
- Responsible to reconcile all R&R expenses and invoices and ensures proper accounting and taxation of rewards occurs.
- Execute annual merit pay cycle including development and management of implementation plans.
- Plan, promote and oversee logistics for events, prepare agendas, coordinate facilities, and secure event materials as needed.
- Develop and implement comprehensive and effective rewards & recognition program communication strategies and trainings;
build & maintain content for employees and candidates; serve as subject matter expert and escalation point to employees and
managers for rewards & recognition programs and aligned information systems.
- Work individually or in wider teams to improve process performance by solving problems and identifying and implementing
continuous improvement opportunities for the Total Rewards Department.
- Maintain relationships with external vendors and internal partners on a day-to-day basis ensuring processes and procedures
align to overall goals.
- Lead the design, development, roll out and maintenance of digital Total Rewards Statements for the enterprise.

Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Business Degree (HR Major) from an institute of recognized standing with a minimum of five years of directly
related experience required.
OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation would be considered an asset.
- Certified Recognition Professional (CRP) designation would be considered an asset.
- Proven leadership skills and be recognized as someone who exhibits a positive attitude in the workplace.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to take business needs and translate into HR solutions.
- In-depth knowledge and ability to provide guidance on benefit practices, policies and programs.
- Demonstrated ability to research, evaluate and develop new programs or recommendations using creative and innovative
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Manitoba Hydro’s collective agreements, policies/practices, and other related
- Demonstrated writing skills with experience in writing reports or recommendations.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $40.44-$55.80 Hourly,
$77,495.34-$106,932.80 Annually.
