Job Description

The Canada Retirement Writer is responsible for writing short-and long-form marketing and thought leadership content for Manulife’s retirement business in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Writing, editing, and researching:

• Solid understanding of retirement savings industry, along with the legislative, economic, and social forces that drive it

• Write a wide variety of assignments, both short form and long form

• Write copy for marketing and transactional websites, social media, thought leadership, as well as more traditional marketing tactics, including emails, videos, flyers, brochures, presentations, etc.

• Independently research insight and data used to develop or bolster written work

• Write clear, persuasive arguments, supported by evidence

• Recognize and uphold the firm’s brand voice and style in all written communications

• Use numerous technologies and software platforms to collaborate, write, and publish work in a digital work environment

• Collaborate with marketing, digital, design, CX, compliance, advanced analytics, and others to develop and complete customer-focused content

• Collaborate with account executives, design, digital experience, production, and analytics to complete assignments

• Maintain a level of professionalism consistent with that of a leading financial institution

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree is required

• 5-10 years of retirement business writing experience preferred

• Experience working at a retirement plan provider, consultant or advisory firm, industry-related news organization, or industry researcher required

• Passion for the retirement industry and a strong intellectual curiosity

• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, including the ability to meet deadlines

• Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment

• Resourceful researcher with strong information gathering and analytical skills

• Excellent writing and verbal skills

• Ability to write in French is preferred

• Advanced related degrees or industry licensing is a positive not required

• The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Montreal, Quebec

Salary range is expected to be between

$70,350.00 CAD – $117,250.00 CAD
