Summary
As part of the Global Human Resources & Communications (HRC) team, the Global Lead HRC Compliance & Risk Management (“the Lead”) provides Risk Management and Compliance CoE oversight for Global HRC. Reporting to the AVP HRC Compliance & Risk Management, Group Functions, the Lead is a risk, data privacy and compliance professional who can provide compliance guidance, controls design, records management oversight, incident management services, risk management advice and leadership to the larger HRC organization. The incumbent will be actively involved in providing advice, guidance, and oversight to HRC projects, risk assessments, audit planning to the fast-paced Global HRC organization.
This is a global role providing oversight and guidance to all countries where Manulife operates .
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and advise the development and implementation of HR risk & compliance programs within Global HRC
regulatory compliance management

Provide risk expertise to strategic initiatives and projects
Review process documents, controls and policies and guide development of corrective action plans to improve risk management
Provide standard methodologies regarding controls, incident management and compliance requirements
Stay ahead of regulatory developments and emerging issues and trends, and review HRC practices, controls and processes to help ensure compliance
Coordinate the preparation and presentation of compliance reports, risk assessments, SOX and audit reports and HRC inventories for senior management
Key contact for Internal Audit, SOX Audit, Risk Management, Information Risk ensuring consistency and coordination
Key liaison with Compliance and Privacy to improve reporting models and to develop compliance culture
Provide consultative advice and training to HRC staff to promote risk aware culture
Partner with Global, Divisional and Business Unit/Country Risk and Compliance professionals to ensure risks and issues are appropriately identified, reported and managed.
Educate global HR teams on how to identify issues and the protocols for managing and reporting
Qualifications
Strong related-work experience in risk or compliance with solid understanding of controls and procedures
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in HR-related risk management, records management, data privacy and compliance requirements and approaches
Understanding of HR, risk and compliance business processes and systems (experience with Archer, Workday, Compass)
Must possess a professional attitude and adhere to a high ethical standard
Excellent judgement, analysis and issue assessment skills
Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
Strong consulting, communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate and influence at the senior management level
Ability to identify, evaluate and make recommendations with respect to control, policies and procedures deficiencies
Confirmed ability to identify opportunities for change and improvements
Ability to apply technology to improve the effectiveness and efficient of compliance programs
Solid documentation and presentation skills
Leadership skills and ability to collaborate in a global matrix environment
Strong skills in relationship management, oral & written communication and customer service

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.
Primary Location
Waterloo, Ontario
Salary range is expected to be between
$67,275.00 CAD – $112,125.00 CAD
