THE POSITION
As the Design Lead, you will be responsible for driving the day-to-day aspect of our design projects, bringing the Maple brand to life. In this role you will conceptualize and produce a wide array of creative assets to fit the company’s needs across multiple channels including but not limited to: email, mobile web/web, digital display/video, audio, sales collateral and more. If you have experience producing exceptional scroll-stopping visual and emotive storytelling creative that is video-first we want to hear from you.
This role will work collaboratively with Brand, Content, Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, BD, Communications, Product & UX and People & Culture cross-functional teams to distill briefs to ensure clarity of objectives and core messages are aligned to deliver intended business outcomes. The Design Lead is accountable to work alongside the Copywriter to concept and deliver high-quality and high-velocity digital-first creative typically in one to two week intervals within our five-week sprint cycle. This role will be supporting the company to scale, optimize, and create opportunities within its strategies to maintain healthy growth for the business.
Reporting directly to the Director of Content, the Design Lead is a key individual contributor position within the company. Critical to success in this role will be demonstrated ability to communicate concepts and ideas through digital-first visual, and video formats. The Design Lead will have a proven ability to manage project intake of design-related requests, assess resourcing and prioritization needs. The Design Lead will work to drive project timelines and ensure all key milestones are met; anticipating and managing any potential blockers, proactively finding solutions across lofi concept development, production and delivery phases.
As the Design Lead, you will maintain current knowledge of emerging industry trends and technologies for design, video, digital, audio and print. Research designs by following industry trends and best practices, competitive analysis and ensuring brand guidelines, and accessibility requirements are adhered to, while consistently practicing the rigor of evolving the brand visual identity as needed to maintain pace of market changing needs and expectations.
This role requires advanced knowledge in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite inclusive of Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, digital design process inclusive of FTP file transfer procedures, PDF and web workflows. proficiency in typography, photography and standard methodologies, including image optimization, responsive design, digital accessibility, HTML, CSS and After Effects. Previous experience working in an agile Sprint environment is an asset.
Note: a healthcare background is not required for this position, however, it may be considered an asset depending on the level of experience.
