The Opportunity
The Transportation Analyst is responsible for developing a new track and trace process, execute on the process daily and keep the business informed of where product is, what is delayed and the recovery plan for the loads. Continuous communication with carriers, key business stakeholders and leadership within Maple Leaf Foods will be required. In addition to the daily execution of this process, the Transportation Analyst will research emerging technology related to track and trace and assist in the discovery process. With the support of the Transportation managers, this role will align processes across the east and west planning centers.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute daily a track and trace process
Communicate directly with the carrier community daily
Work with transportation managers to align processes in both regions
Ensure tracking of on time arrival by carrier is accurate
Various other projects and cost savings initiatives
Other duties as assigned
POSITION OUTCOMES:
Executable track and trace process for both the East and West planning centers
Collaborative relationships and processes with all carriers and key business stakeholders
Develop recommendations for technology and process improvement within the broader team

What you will bring:
3-5 years of Logistics experience including warehouse & transportation within a large organization with multiple profit centres
Strong knowledge of distribution, transportation, and freight costing
Professional designation (eg: CITT, P.Log) or other related courses would be an asset
Supply Chain Management designation is an asset
Demonstrated strong team player
Strongly aligned with Maple Leaf Values
Superior oral and written communication skills
Exceptional analytical skills with ability to provide insight
Strong problem solving, prioritization & organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with strict timelines
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Strong interpersonal skills that allow for informal and formal networking across and up the organization
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office
Functional understanding of SAP TM
Awareness of emerging trends in transportation related to software
