French Teacher, this is a part-time position. The successful candidate would need to be flexible on weekends and a minimum of 2 weekdays.

Master Choice Learning is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable French teacher who enjoys working with students in Grades 1-12 French Immersion. Teachers in our Specialized French Learning Program offer individualized instruction, guidance and support to students to improve their French academic skills (oral communication & comprehension, reading, writing and grammar), thinking skills, learning strategies, and study habits. This opportunity offers 8-12hours of rewarding teaching experience per week. Excellent training and ongoing support is provided.

DUTIES:

– Have good knowledge of Ontario Curriculum

– Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials

– Direct and guide students in learning

– Collect and mark homework

– Communicate with administration about class progress

– Other duties may arise from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

– 3+ years French teaching experience with a Bachelor’s degree completed in French (Preferred)

– OCT certification is an asset, we would be open with candidates with less experience, however, fluency is both English and French is a must

– Strong French and English language written and oral communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities

· Encourage high standards in student progress and level of understanding French;

· Support and motivate students to challenge themselves as learners;

· Teach individual students in one-on-one settings and in small group;

· Customize teaching methods to meet the learning styles of students;

· Complete learning summary after each session for students to critical reflect on lesson taught;

· Create individualized, curriculum-based teaching plans for each student based on his or her assessment;

· Deliver lessons with the aim of achieving the objectives of our institution.
