Matrix HR Looking for General Labour at Airdrie, Alberta, Canada Full Time

MatrixHR is currently recruiting experienced General Labour Workers for various clients and sites around Calgary and the surrounding areas. These positions are both temporary in nature and long-term ongoing roles. Must have experience and expertise in construction-related activities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of structures and systems.
• Operate and maintain various tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and complete assigned tasks within deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
• Perform general cleanup and maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of construction practices, techniques, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficient in using hand tools, and power equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Effective communication and teamwork.

Competencies:

• Proficient in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and other trade skills.
• Knowledgeable in using measuring tools, such as tape measures and levels.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures on construction sites.
• Strong time management skills,

Scope Of Work:

• Performs selective demolition and removal of waste.
• Repairs and constructs external timber stairs way to Summer Dock.
• Install buoyancy floats and cedar boards to the metal dock.
• Operates hand and power tools.
• Works closely with other members of the Carpentry team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

• Must be willing to perform a wide variety of tasks with varying physical requirements from lifting, and climbing ladders, and being on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Must be willing to work at height and in confined spaces.
• Extended outdoor activity; exposure to varied weather conditions.

Qualifications:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Versatile in all types of general carpentry.
• Proficient with the safe operation of carpentry tools and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
• Must be able to work safely with other workers and abide by our client’s safety manual.

Requirements:

• Relevant construction experience, residential or commercial
• Full PPE.
• AWP preferred.
