MatrixHR is currently looking to hire a very experienced Lead Carpenter/ Foreman for a project in West Vancouver BC. This is a 5 to 6-month project minimum with the possibility of it going longer. We are looking for a candidate with strong wood framing skills and a valid driver’s license.
Pay rate: to be determined based upon skill set and experience
Location: West Vancouver BC
Tasks Include But Not Limited To
- Coordinate and schedule daily tasks.
- Oversee and participate in the construction, installation, and repair of structures made of wood.
- Inspect work progress and ensure compliance with building codes and project specifications.
- Train and mentor junior carpenters, providing guidance and support.
- Project development and timelines.
- Ensure proper maintenance and safety of all tools and equipment.
- Address any concerns or issues.
- Ensure a clean and organized work area at all times. all safety protocols among the team members.
- Assist in estimating material and labor costs for projects.
- Keep up-to-date with industry.
- Strong carpentry skills with a minimum of 5 years and communication skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret project specifications.
- Proficient in using carpentry tools and equipment.
- Proficiency in framing.
- Knowledge of different types of wood and their properties.
- Familiar with tools and equipment.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently.
- Understanding regulations related to carpentry work.
- Strong mathematical skills for measuring, cutting, and calculating dimensions.
- Travel to other sites if needed.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in Wood Framing Carpentry.
- Foreman or Supervisory experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Local OT willing to relocate to Vancouver BC.
