MCI Looking for Senior Operations Manager, Logistics at Calgary, AB Full Time

SPTL is an Asset based Transportation and Logistics company specializing in LTL & TL across Canada and to parts of the USA and they have an exciting opportunity at their brand new Calgary office.

The ideal candidate is a high-energy leader with the ability to maange and direct a diverse workforce in the transportation services for multiple clients. This role is responsible for overseeing operations with a focus on safety, compliance and growing the business. This is a hands-on role.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations such as pick ups, deliveries & warehousing
• Work with functional leaders within the company to ensure compliance to company policies and procedures
• Manage, train, and develop Operations staff in hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work
• Ensure that safety is always a strong part of the culture and environment
• Develop positive relationships with key clients and vendors
• Liaise with the Safety team to ensure safety standards are adhered to and reinforced by the Operations team

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education with an emphasis on Business or Management highly preferred but not mandatory
• 10-15 years transportation/logistics operations and management experience
• Ability to focus on the “big picture” of a company’s goals
• Excellent ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with a team, clients, and internal managers
• Strong ability to demonstrate analysis and problem solving skills

Compensation:

A very competitive compensation package including benefits is offered. Salary will commensurate with experience. For the right candidate, we are willing to match or offer a higher salary.
