Course Description/Relevant Employment Duties
Introduction to population structure and dynamics. This course will introduce key concepts in natural selection and regulation of organisms by environmental and biological factors. Key concepts will include an evolutionary view of predation, competition, and life history schedules. The course will focus on quantitative and conceptual thinking, and applications to ecological problems. Skills taught should include dynamic modeling of populations, individual-based and population-based perspectives, and quantitative aspects of inter-species interactions.
Required Qualifications
PhD in Biology and experience teaching ecology and evolution at the university level using quantitative methods.
