The Senior Accountant role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial records, providing essential data for informed decision-making, and contributing to our organization’s fiscal responsibility. With responsibilities ranging from financial reporting and analysis to process improvement, this position plays a vital role in supporting our mission and long-term financial success.
Position Accountabilities:
- Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist Controller in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accounts receivable.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure it reflects the financial transactions accurately.
- Assist Controller with annual financial audits and collaborate with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and data.
- Conduct variance analysis and identify areas for cost control and improvement.
- Provide financial data and analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Working Environment:
NOTE: This position may support other Alberta Subsidiaries from the McNally office from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other business-related field.
- CPA designation is a plus.
- 5 years+ of relevant work experience with a strong background in financial reporting and analysis.
- Construction industry with purchasing process and implementation experience is considered an asset.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Table and V-Lookup.
- Experience in ERP systems (Viewpoint, D365).
- Full-cycle accounting experience with knowledge of IFRS, financial regulations, and tax laws.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
